Because I've retired from PC development, after trying out various OSes over the years, I've returned to the original MIUI, and even the MIUI themes have reverted to classic themes.
I wanted a change of flavor, so from early 2023 until now, I started thinking about itWebsiteAt first, I found it quite interesting, but later it started to feel worse. Building and maintaining a website requires investing in domain names and servers, and these costs are continuous. The machine and domain fees need to be renewed every year, sometimes several hundred, sometimes thousand, and even if you invest money, you might not even get back your investment.
Unlike phones, where selling second-hand doesn't cause much loss, websites do have ways to break even, but they're not very legitimate and mostly under-the-table, which I personally really dislike.
I've observed that there are actually two types of website development: one is making a website for the sake of building a website, and the other is building a website for the sake of a project.
Building a website just for the sake of building a website starts out just for fun and to show off. Later, it's just to follow trends and build programs. Essentially, it's just for fun or showing off, though you could also say it's learning.
The characteristic of building a website just for the sake of building a website is: money and effort are invested, but there is no return, no traffic, almost nothing, and the webmaster entertains himself alone.
Actually, the normal logic for building a website is to start with a project, and only after the project grows a bit more can you build the website for functional display or online services.
Or if the project is just an online website project, you have to get the core core skills done first.
For example, a 3D rendering blogger first has 3D rendering skills, then makes videos. If the videos get good traffic and they get traffic, they take orders; when the traffic is too high and there are many duplicate orders, they create a website. Non-customized 3D materials can be automatically shipped by listing them on the website. If customization is needed, they can customize it through the contact information listed on the site.
A novel cover creator also needs to first put effort into making the cover art, then shoot a video about the cover design. This also generates traffic. If the traffic is too high or for convenience, they build a website. They spend a thousand yuan hiring someone to write a website program that can automatically apply cover templates. This way, they have a lot of effort left, earn no less than taking orders one by one, and the price of custom cover orders can increase significantly.
The example may sound a bit sloppy, but the meaning is clear: building a website for a project is effective. A website is just a tool to improve efficiency; a website is there to help you, not to drain your energy or money. If the site you build doesn't break even or make money, and you don't like it, then it's a scam site, and you need to leave promptly.
Of course, if you really like it, then that's a hobby.
I have quite a bit of pride online. I don't want to "run with one click" or "delete databases with one click." At least when I was enthusiastic about building a site, I had some things before. There were hundreds of people in the website group, and I built the site with the belief that "I'm different from other webmasters, I won't run away." I couldn't have started thinking about running away later, so I might as well not do it at all.
And if they hadn't started it from the start, they wouldn't have known these network technologies.
People still need real skills and real skills. Building a website just for the sake of building a site won't make a living, unless you're like the webmaster on the 4414 forum, battling wits with search engines to get organic traffic. You don't have much to do yourself, just rely on collecting others' stuff and generating articles with one-click AI. I don't like being so unethical.
Maybe it's because I'm still at the age where earning money feels shameful.
My colleagues always comment on me like this: making some money and then becoming unethical. As long as it's not illegal, I'll earn as much as I can.
Of course, he has car loans, mortgages, and a wife and children.
Compared to others around me, I'm actually carefree. I've never stepped into a big pit, and there's a bit of magical power at home. Big pitfalls turn into small pits, and small pits aren't really pits. So I just want to live a more exciting life, not so boring, and enjoy it as much as possible—the better.
If my colleague were like me, they would be scamming and scamming online without blinking.
Writing this, I suddenly feel that many people in the circle are like this, such as those doing payments, authorization programs, and proxy services. Haha, I've been lucky enough to be cheated on by them all.
A quick note: this year I bought a Yuan Payment program. The day after 128 yuan, the price dropped to 99 yuan. And that's not all—a week later, I went open source, and the agent sold it to me. At the time, it was hyped up like crazy.
Back this year, in April, a customer who did Easy Pay approached me and asked me to connect their platform to my own platform. Because their turnover was too high, they temporarily borrowed it from me. Later, they ran away, and then their client contacted me through my domain name. That customer lost over a hundred yuan. Later, the client said they would temporarily use my platform first, and I agreed. But then there was a problem with Alipay on the other side, so I settled the bill, which caused problems with my own Alipay as well. Some Alipay functions were blocked for a year;
Last year, I wanted to do interactive filing, but since I wasn't familiar with many things at the time, I found a proxy I got scammed out of 300 yuan + a .com domain, totaling 370 yuan. The other side was still on Xianyu, and Xianyu immediately reported and got his account banned. Haha, I just checked and the account on the other side has already been deleted.
This interactive filing actually only requires a business license. At the time, I thought getting a business license was difficult, but later I applied for one online for free on Taobao Town and paid 20 yuan for SF Express postage. Later, I asked someone to register for tax and spent 50 yuan, totaling 70 yuan. Up to now, I have to prepare it. Five domain names were recorded.
Actually, I didn't really feel much about it; I had already prepared everything beforehandInternetPreparing for trade fairs with a total loss, if you encounter someone who is being scammed, go through the process and report when necessary; if you encounter someone who isn't scamming, you don't have much emotion. Do you think I should be grateful that they didn't cheat me? Not ripping people off is probably the most basic thing. Overall, whether you cheat or not makes me feel a bit less boring.
Thinking of the few things I'm grateful for online, I have to mention Zhe'an Cloud. This cloud provider hosts its own Ningbo data center. Seeing my pity, they set up a Ningbo AMD 7601 8C16G 30Mbps for me to play, with 6.18TB of data per month. Renewing costs only 88 yuan per month. If you need it, feel free to support me—they set it up for a month, and I'm already planning to renew. The value for money is really high, and they didn't overload it. ——————————————————————————————————————————
After briefly summarizing and organizing my recent situation over the past two years, I think it's time to focus and stop focusing on "building a site just for the sake of building a site."
It's not about starting a new field, but about picking up the "real skills" I used to throw away. I started learning guitar six years ago, but after three years, I gradually neglected it after changing teachers. In the past two years, whenever I hear songs I like, I occasionally get hooked and dig out sheet music, but there's never much progress. I can spend more time practicing the technique (unexpectedly, I even attracted a wealthy woman. This year, I met a female client who practiced guitar specifically for me, but unfortunately, it wasn't fate).
Afterwards, see if you can try making a music website.
I studied art for two years in high school, but later had to give up because of conflicts between art and Japanese. Many art foundations remain, and I happened to carry a Win tablet on business trips, so I could spend more time practicing board drawing.
Afterwards, you can also try creating an art-related site.
Also, his writing talent was not particularly satisfying. It lacked focus, wrote whatever came to mind, and even inserted a segment that seemed like an advertisement, hence the nameMiscellaneous talks。
Many of my articles are often praised by readers, but for me, I just constantly adjust subject-verb-object complement when writing. Part of the reason may also be the added effect of my former obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Early in the pandemic, I tested positive, and during the quarantine night, I was so uncomfortable I couldn't sleep. I started listening to novels and using iFlytek Yuji to read aloud, gradually shifting from a simple novel to one that requires brains. "Forty Thousand Years of Cultivation" is undoubtedly a watershed because its first 500 chapters are a mindless novel, but it starts slowly and rises strongly. The author skillfully turns the book into a logically consistent, broad-minded work, with each villain leaving a deeper impression...... This is where I began my journey to book drought.
Sometimes, you don't even need to sleep all night—just listen to novels and close your eyes to rest, until the sun comes out the next day. The effect of resting is even better than sleeping, because after truly enjoying the night, it's not just mindless pleasure, but the more you think about it, the more exhilarating and happy you feel.
Relying on iFlytek Language Notes, I read at a 130 cm speed, finished nearly fifty online novels in 2021, and in 2022, the volume was even larger, to the point of ...... To this day, I have no books left to read, so I draft my own essays.
Among the web novels I finished, several were listened to more than once or twice, naming "Gu Zhenren," "Entering Cultivation," "Ace," and so on.
Now that I've started creating my own work, I've realized it's actually not easy for authors. Without an outline, you might fall apart while writing, and after outlining it, you might lose interest in writing again, because you've already enjoyed it in your head. Every day, updates just keep stirring up leftovers, which can make your mindset worse. But I only draft half the outline, picking about a third of the setting and plot foreshadowing to put into the story, leaving room for free development later. At least life has hope.
However, there are also times when I can't write or don't want to write. My writing gets stuck—not because of a dry out of inspiration, but because I feel conflicted because there's too much inspiration. I need to use associative memory to remember the hundredth decimal place of pi, stringing ideas together and placing them in their proper places. My mind tends to get dazed (a post-compulsive syndrome of obsessive-compulsive disorder, so I have to come up with everything). At such moments, I remember my original intention for writing: "This book is actually pretty good...... "If I were writing, I wouldn't ......"—in short, the taste of reading has been refined to a very delicate level.
But now, it's my own high expectations but low ability......
(To be continued)

PS: I just realized it's over 3,000 words. Is it possible that at first I just wanted to write an ad for someone, but it just got out of hand?
